Michal Tamir is an Israeli artist working in painting and drawing. Tamir holds an MFA from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. She studied in the master classes of the Jerusalem Studio School and the Hatachana Studio School. She is also a graduate of the Visual Communication Department at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design.
Tamir’s paintings move between the intimate and the theatrical. Working on large-scale paper works and canvases, she explores figures from her immediate environment and the emotional structures that shape their inner worlds. These figures reappear throughout her work, shifting identities and roles, and merging with their surroundings to form a single painterly space in which body, memory, and intimate relationships move between the real and the imagined.
